Douglas Redfearn is a commercial litigator with more than 25 years of legal experience. He practices primarily in the area of civil litigation involving product liability. He represents national insurers and other large companies in matters involving asbestos and silica-related injuries, chemical injuries, product defect injuries, slip-and-fall accidents, and transportation accidents, and is currently managing statewide asbestos and silica litigation in Louisiana involving thousands of plaintiffs.
Doug’s prior experience includes engaging in class action litigation against the tobacco industry and representing business economic loss claimants in connection with the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. He has also written numerous coverage opinions concerning commercial general liability (CGL) and homeowner’s insurance policies; and, in the oil and gas field, Doug has been involved in acquisitions, mergers, MMS issues, and mineral leases and servitudes.

- Ulmer v. Frisard, 945 So. 2d 85 (La. App. 5 Cir. October 31, 2006) (won summary judgment on defamation, libel, slander, malicious prosecution, harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims and prevailed on appeal)
- Alexander v. Fulco, 895 So. 2d 668 (La. App. 2 Cir. February 25, 2005), writ denied, 901 So. 2d 1107 (La. May 6, 2005) (won prescription trial involving 66 plaintiffs and prevailed on appeal)
