Simon Peragine Smith & Redfearn managing partner and head of the firm’s construction/surety practice H. Bruce Shreves is a master mediator. Consider this: the complex construction disputes he mediates can often bring between 10-15 parties (all with competing interests) to the table, but Shreves can help negotiate a solution that everyone is satisfied within a couple of days or less. That’s remarkable enough but throw in the fact that some of these disputes have been going on for a decade or more and the magnitude of what Shreves is able to accomplish really becomes apparent.

“It’s a great feeling when you are able to bring resolution and closure to these matters, some of which have millions of dollars on the line,” says the lauded and well-credentialed Shreves, one of the founding partners of the firm and a frequent author and lecturer on both construction law and mediation and arbitration. “I enjoy this as much as anything I’ve done in my practice.”
